Cookies

Cookies are very small text files used by websites that your browser stores on your computer and that can transmit certain information to us or also to a third party if necessary.

Transient cookies are deleted automatically when you close the browser. In particular, they include session cookies. They store what is known as a “session ID”, which allows the various requests from your browser to be allocated to the same session. This allows your computer to be recognized when you return to our website. Session cookies are deleted when you log out or close the browser.

Persistent cookies are deleted automatically after a set period of time, which can vary depending on the cookie in question. Unlike transient cookies, persistent cookies are not deleted automatically when you close the browser. However, you can also delete the cookies at any time in your browser’s security settings.

We process cookies that are strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user (“necessary cookies”) in the context of our legitimate interest in providing and operating the website based on Art. 6 (1), sentence 1 (f) of the GDPR. The following cookies that are necessary for operating the website are used at present:

  • Name: CFID; purpose: A sequential client identifier and a random security token with random numbers to maintain the session between the server and the client across multiple page views; storage period: Until the session ends
  • Name: CFTOKEN; purpose: A sequential client identifier and a random security token with random numbers to maintain the session between the server and the client across multiple page views; storage period: Until the session ends
  • Name: SWITCH_LANG; purpose: Set to other language versions when the message is closed if the browser language is not the same as the page language. The cookie prevents the message from reappearing each time the page is changed; storage period: Until after the session ends
  • Name: tree*; purpose: Stores open support and FAQ sections so that they do not have to be reopened when the user returns. Storage period: 5 days
  • Name: CAB_3D_MODELL_DOWNLOAD; purpose: Stores a unique user ID that the user receives after registering for the 3D model download and that entitles them to download on subsequent visits; storage period: 30 years
  • Name: piwik_ignore; purpose: Set if the user does not want to be tracked by Matomo (opt-out checkbox in the privacy policy). The value is identical for all users; storage period: 2 years
  • Name: MATOMO_SESSID; purpose: Contains what is known as a “nonce” as a value; a nonce is used to protect the user against CSRF attacks; storage period: Until after the session ends

Further information about your terminal device that is not strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user is stored or accessed. Storage and/or access thus only take place if you have given your consent to this effect. Details about the type of information, purpose of processing, information storage period and potential data recipients can be found further on in this privacy policy (e.g. under “cab online chat” and under “Matomo”).

You can make settings in your browser so that cookies are categorically not accepted or only certain cookies are stored or not stored. You can revoke any consent you may have given to the processing of data by means of cookies at any time with effect for the future by calling up the cookie banner under "Cookies" in the footer of our website again and changing your settings or by deleting corresponding cookies directly via the settings of your browser. This is done to enable us to pursue our legitimate interest in improving the range of products and services we offer using the statistics obtained and in making said range more interesting for you as a user.

The following cookies are stored on your computer for this evaluation with your consent (Art. 6 (1), sentence (1) (a) of the GDPR):

  • Name: _pk_ref; purpose: Used to store the user’s origin (e.g. name of the campaign that referred the user to the site); storage period: 6 months

You can prevent cookies from being set either by not consenting to the setting and processing of cookies for visitor counting / statistical purposes, or by preventing the setting of cookies using your browser’s settings, or by deleting cookies stored on your device. Please note that you may not be able to use all of this website’s features if you prevent cookies from being stored.

If you do not agree to cookies being set or prevent the setting of cookies using your browser’s settings, only the data mentioned under “Log files” (truncated IP address, referrer, etc.) will be processed for the purposes of statistically evaluating website visits. This is done in the context of our legitimate interest in analyzing visits to our website.

Preventing tracking by Matomo or revoking your consent with effect for the future is possible by revisiting the cookie banner under "Cookies" in the footer of our website and changing your settings or by setting a so-called opt-out cookie by clicking on the following link:

Please note that opting out will set a cookie on your terminal device to prevent tracking. If you subsequently delete cookies from your terminal device, the opt-out cookie will also be deleted so you may need to object or revoke your consent again.

Matomo uses this website with the “AnonymizeIP” extension. This further processes IP addresses in truncated form so they cannot be directly attributed to a person. The IP address transmitted by your browser using Matomo is not associated with any other data we collect. You will find information from Matomo about data protection at https://matomo.org/privacy/.

If third-party content, such as YouTube, is displayed on our web pages, the transmission of your IP address and the content displayed under "Log Files" to the third-party provider is required to make this content available and to display it in your browser. This serves to provide an attractive presentation of our website. The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1), sentence 1, (f) of the GDPR. We have no influence on the processing of data by the third party. If necessary, the third party stores your data as a user profile and uses it for the purposes of advertising, conducting market research and/or designing its website in a needs-based way. You have the right to object to the creation of these user profiles whereby you must contact the third party to exercise this right.
